From 2012 to 2024, a total of 43217 cases were diagnosed by the TB Control project.

Since 1994, The Leprosy Mission International Bangladesh (TLMI-B) has been active in tuberculosis control efforts. In 2004, with funding from the GFATM (Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria), TLMI-B partnered with BRAC to implement the project ‘Integrated Tuberculosis Care and Prevention for Enhancing Case Findings, Health System Strengthening and Sustainability’ in Panchagarh and Thakurgaon. This partnership aimed to achieve the targets set by the National Tuberculosis Program (NTP). The project goal was to diagnose the new smear-positive cases at an early stage to reduce the transmission of TB infection in the targeted districts.
The working area covers the districts of Thakurgaon and Panchagar, and targets a population of 2,926, 626 across its 10 Upazilas including 101 Unions (Thakurgaon-54, Panchagarh-47). There were 18 DOTs centers along with 18 microscopy centers and 1 EQA center.
Having successfully completed eight phases, BRAC concluded this partnered project on 30th April 2025, and its activities have been integrated into BRAC’s ongoing operations.
