Learning 360Mobilization and Empowerment (MEPD)

Mobilization and Empowerment of people living with Disability Project transform the lives of people affected by leprosy, NTDs, and disabilities in North-Western Bangladesh’s Gaibanda and Joypurhat districts, moving from discrimination to dignity and inclusion. Currently, this project covers two districts Gaibanda and Joypurhat and facilitates 192 Self Help Group (SHG) of 3,377 members.

This project supports individuals affected by Leprosy, Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs), Congenital Disabilities, Disabilities from natural disasters and other debilitating conditions etc.

The project focuses a transformative journey towards a respectful, inclusive community. This community will ensure access to rights and services, empowering individuals through Self Help Groups, Sub-district Associations, District Advocacy Committees, and Civil Society organisations.

We are visioning to improve socio-economic and health conditions of people affected by NTDs and disabilities through organizational empowerment, to improve awareness of NTDs and disability, to better access to government health services, to strengthen health support systems, to increase access to education, Technical and vocational training opportunities, to support for employment and entrepreneurship,

We envision a future where the socio-economic and health conditions of individuals affected by Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) and disabilities are significantly improved. This will be achieved through organizational empowerment, enhanced awareness of NTDs and disability, improved access to government health services, strengthened health support systems, increased access to educational, technical, vocational training, employment and entrepreneurial opportunities.  Together, we strive to build stronger, more inclusive communities that empower every individual to reach their full potential.
