A Beacon of Compassion in Leprosy Care

Md. Aadhil, a 58-year-old Government TB and Leprosy Control Assistant (TLCA) in Brahmanbaria, whose dedication and commitment have significantly contributed towards effective leprosy treatment and reduced social stigma. His journey began in 1990 when he received one-month comprehensive leprosy training at Mohakhali Leprosy Hospital in Dhaka. Additional training sessions facilitated by TLMI-B helped him to imbibe the knowledge on Leprosy. Equipped with specialized knowledge, Aadhil efficiently manages the leprosy clinic in Sarail, excelling in patient management, pre-treatment health education, counselling, new patient body charting, disability management, record-keeping, and reporting through DHIS2 and ensuring MDT follow-up.

His dedication to leprosy control extends beyond the clinic. Aadhil’s journey exemplifies the transformative impact of dedicated healthcare professionals, inspiring others with his tireless efforts and compassionate approach to eliminating leprosy.
